So this morning I was running late...as usual...nothing different...but
I missed my 1st bus, which led to missing my 2nd bus. I then finally
caught the 2nd bus when I proceeded to notice I FUKN. FORGOT. MY.
PHONE!!!! Yes, at the bus stop. At an effn bus stop in the greater los
angeles county!!! I realized my mistake and jumped off the bus, luckily
it wasn't to far away...mile n a half maybe more. I ran like I was on
fire and needed water!! Lo and behold when I got close to the stop I
noticed people at the stop and my heart sank...
As I approached the stop I noticed my phone...it was on the bench right
where I left it...and I wanted to drop and prostrate...cuz all the while
I was runnin' I was begging Jesus that my phone be there under His
protection, invisible.
And just so y'all know I have a sidekick....a nice phone...not too
shabby, desireable and easy to sell...IT IS A MIRACLE that it was
there....thanks to my coach who held my purse while I ran......

Ya, ya, ya....I know...it's been a hot minute since I've posted
something and no it's not due to lack of action on my part. :D

I've been busy and just in the moment. no time to blog as I do.

Let's see, where to begin....mmmm...ok last weekend I attended a Sufi
workshop which was INCREDIBLE!!!

I attended on Sunday, although it was all last weekend and this upcoming
weekend! It was a day of meditation, dancing and chanting!!! Pure
bliss!!! I attended with my bf. It was so transformational!!! I'm
still detoxing and it's Thursday!!! I will be attending again this
weekend.

I've been given an additional day at DSYA. I'm happy about that.
Although it felt weird, I'm loving it! I put together a proposal and
hope to implement it as soon as I can speak to mr.v........*sigh*

My weekend in Ojai!!

This weekend I had the divine blessing of attending a yoga retreat in Ojai in historical Casa Barranca.

I was there simply to cook and serve. I had a glorious time and really felt as if I was not there but rather my being/spirit was there and flowing with creation. It went by quick and all I really recall is the empty plates and hungry Yogi's.

The hub...

Aaahh, the hub of the city. I've never seen it during daylight and it's
rather beautiful! So much going on. Cars, people, movement.

Constantly moving. Don't know to where, but moving.

It was HOT today. If this is any indication od what the summer is going
to be like, I'm in trouble. It was not only hot but huuuuumid!! So
humid people upper lip sweat was sweating!

I had the pleasure and blessing to be in an air conditioned studio.
Having a relaxed day, sort of, and enjoying the coolness. I stepped out
every so often and felt the heat wrapping me up and holding me.

I went on a roller coaster. Emotionally speaking. And here's what I've
decided. The journey is what is important, not the outcome, not what
may happen, not what I want to happen, but the journey. The state I'm
in.

I was saddened for a moment but I want to feel that for everyone!! Not
just for one person, but for everyone, and everything!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wanna love the world and
ask for nothing in return. The sun never says hey I've lit up your
world, now what are you going to do for me??

So yes, I was on a roller coaster and decided I like this love feeling.
No matter what.

That it has been a while since I've posted something. I've been running around and having a great ole time!!! I can't even remember the last thing I wrote about...ok so since I can't remember here's what I've been up to.

I had this last weekend off from the shoe store so I ran amuck with Ms. Irish. We went to a Green Party that was hosted by Whole Life Times and LA Green drinks. We went with a couple of other people from the Temple. It was fuuuuun! We left before the attendees became belligerent from the alkie they were serving. It was very cool! As we walked in, we were handed these little rocks and then asked to place them in our desired charity vase. It was quite fabulous, and inspirational!

Afterwards we headed home and crashed.

We got up sunday with the intention of taking a Yoga class, but did not make it on time. So we went to the local coffee shop and relaxed. I decided I felt like cooking so off to the grocery store we went. I made blueberry waffles with fresh fruit on the side. Yuuummmerz!!!

We got ready, while watching Jab we met, and Indian movie, and proceeded to go to the hogtastic land of Topanga for an Earth day celebration. Ms. Irish was doing some marketing for our beloved Swamiji. We had a fab-o time and even saw my friend Amanda. After we got done there we drove down the coast and stopped at the SM pier. It was quite breezy out but beautiful none the less.

We left the beach and headed to my house where I cooked us up some potato leek soup and pasghetti. Yes pasghetti folx, you read right. We had an awesome dinner and watched the rest of the movie!! At about 11ish I drove Ms. irish back home. Had a splendorific weekend!!!! Every moment is a miracle! Don't forget that, and don't take it for granted.

Monday it was back to work. It was quiet and serene.

So that was my weekend. Just keeping you updated...whoever you are!

Oh, yeah. Me and Ms. Irish met an interesting fellow who does a performance/comedy of some sort. Hoping to check him out soon.

What a Godly weekend!

My original intention was to go to Topanga and dance, whirl. Yes
whirl...and whirl, on a mountain top to my favorite (for this moment)
Nithyananda cd.

Existence had another plan. ;)

I had to work on Sat. so we had to head to Topanga Saturday night
instead of Friday.

Amy spent the night on Friday. It was fuuuuun! We went to Raul's tacos
on Firestone. Grubbed up a quesadilla...yummmerz! Rented Conversations
with God. I saw my video bf...hahaahhahaaa.

We ended going to sleep around 1ish, maybe 2.

Got up the next day to be @ Dancing Shiva @ 745 am. Yes...a.m.! We
had to leave the house @ 7. Lol.

We had lunch @ the Grove at the Crepes place....mmmm....mmmm...good!!!

We ended up leaving Dancing Shiva @ 4:30ish.

We took off to Topanga @ 6:30 pm. We got lost, of course. Lol. Me and
her could drive down the street and get lost. It's beautiful!! So we
get back on track and I forgot I wanted to stop for coffee.

We finally get to Amanda's and she still looks like she did in high
school. Beeeautiful! I love her to pieces!!!

So Amy and I are craving coffee. Amanda has tea. Lol. She gives us
directions to the downtown area of Topanga. If you've never been, it a
lot of windy roads, and trees, and canyon. Extremely beautiful and
divine! Nature. We were blessed to be there.

We get to the coffee place and it just so happens (ya right) that the
yoga studio in the plaza was having a Art of Living speaker Rishi-ji. I
wanted to go in but was thinking of Amanda waiting for us cuz she was
taking us to a party/get together for one of her friends.
Amy: "lets go in for a minute."
Me: "I don't know, I don't wanna have Manda wtg."
Amy: "ok lets get into the car and contemplate."
Me : "ya that's a good idea."
I get in and all of a sudden my body starts to vibrate...and I say to
her "get outta the car, we have to go in." I knew we had to.
We walk in and sit. They were in the middle of meditating so we joined
them. It was wonderful!
As we get up to leave Rishi says, "please, turn on the lights so I can
your faces" speaking to the whole group but it was said as we got to the
light switch. It was awe-some!!! Godly, divine!!!!

On Sunday we met Amanda's bf, who is a great spirit! Great vibrations!
We went out to breakfast with amanda's friend, amanda's bf, amy and I.
It was deeeelicious!

We decide to go the beach cuz Malibu is so close to her. She took us to
point dune (?) and it was peaceful. Amy chanted and then we all
mediatated, or at least amy and I did.

We drive home and I get off on robertson, cuz I need to make a bodhi
tree stop.
Amy: "lets go to the hare Krshna temple"
Me: "lets do it."

We couldn't find parking so I'm like ok if we r supposed to be here,
we'll find parking and as soon as the n in parking came out some guy
walks up to his car and leaves!!!

We park and enter temple. The vibrations in there were intense!! I was
in a state of love!!! And bliss.
We chanted the mantra. Hare Krshna, hare Krshna, krshna, krshna, hare,
hare, hare Rama hare Rama, Rama, Rama hare hare. And sunday was lord
Rama's bday. And I got to dance!!!! I love lord Krshna!!!

They fed us with Godly food and it was scrumptious. Full and in bliss
we head to bodhi tree.
I picked up a good book about courage written by Osho.

I was dehydrated and needed water asap. Got it and Amy drove to her
house. We chilled and chatted and recalled the events of such a divine
and blissful weekend. God brought us together for a reason and I'm ever
SO GRATEFUL! I love her and she inspires me. Thank you God!

And that was the weekend I was blessed to have. Life is great if you
allow creation, existence, divinity to lead and you just hold on. You
will not be led astray, but rather have some of the best, most blissful
moments. Surrender, surrender, surrender.
I surrender to existence, I left my shoes and my mind @ the door.

Coming to the laundromat. I know, I know...some of you are like wtf?
But I like the fact that I can take care of 4 loads @ one time.
How I can sit and read without being bothered. How little kids run
amuck in this place playing everything from hide n seek to tag.
I like the clean smell. I like that I can watch novelas, or ray
romano.
How I get done in half the time.
I like the old ladies who have been hardened by life getting joy from
watching tv and washing clothes together, sort of like doing laundry in
your living room.

But above all else, I enjoy how the old man who runs this spot thinks
his saggy balls has a chance with me. It makes me feel 100 yrs old!
I'm sure all of you are quite jealous, but you shouldn't be. He only
own one laundromat and....yes there's more. And he lets me watch
whatever channel I so choose.

Everyday I'm just trusting that the universe will provide and that's a
beautiful thing! It's such a freeing experience! To not worry (or to
worry a lil less) and know that I'm never alone. I'll never be alone.
I love my spirit enough to embrace the universe and let the wind take me
where it may.
Amy and I are going to Topanga canyon, where I'll finally be able to see
my bff from high school!!!! I'm super duper excited! I haven't seen
her since high school! We've spoken a few times since I found her
facebook, of all places! Lol! At least the internet is good for
that...stalking old friends...hahahaa...just kidding folx. But
seriously, I'm am as excited as a lil kid on christmas b4 opening the
presents!!! It's going to be wonderful!!!! My newfound sister in
spirit and my old sister in spirit hanging together...the 3 of
us.....wow! It's going to be beautiful!!!!

I camt to have dinner @ Carino's...and I went to the bar cuz I thought
it would be faster....
Haha...
It wasn't.
I had to sit in the restaurant and have now been served. I came here
last week and maybe the bartender hated us?? No...but maybe he wasn't
happy with his tip?
All I know is that I sat there @ the bar for a good 10 minutes before I
made the decision to get a table in the dinning area.
I'm glad I did...the waitress is lovely, and I'm sure the meal will be
as well!!!!

Is slow and I'm bored. I had a great weekend! Friday I checked out a
great band from Sweden! They were awesome!!! Thanks to Dj for
inviting. We had quite the experience. Man I love that kid. He's
awesome and I hope he knows it! I would tell him but I don't wanna get
him excited...lol!

Saturday I took in a part of the Ayurveda program @ Dancing Shiva.
After which I took a class and it was awesome!!! Thanks Miyuki. Headed
to Vedic Temple and they had a celebration going on. I ended up buying
the meditation cd and gettin Mendhi!!!! I hope the pic show up. I got
home and crashed!!! Too tired. Woke up @ 4 am, went to bed (cuz I was
on the couch...that's twice in 1 weekend?) and woke up this morning for
work.

A wonderful opportunity!!! For me, that is. This morning while riding
the bus I was reading guaranteed solutions. Well I got to a part that
says I should let go and let the universe...and so I decided that I want
to do that. It wasn't even a decision really, it just is. It's what I
want. I want to be in streets fighting and knowing I am with Existence,
if I fall, I will fall on Existence lap.

During the ride on the bus, I prayed for this. I decided I'm ready to
let go and let God, as Dr. Wayne Dyer says. I receive a phone call from
Amy, my dear Amy, and she had a thought...why don't I learn to do the
classes in Spanish. Why don't I be a teacher for the Life Bliss
Guaranteed Solutions program!!!!!

Things are happening and I can't even explain them, nor do I want to. I
want to enjoy these moments...bask in them and realize that there IS
something bigger than you, me, us, we. There is no you, me, we...it's
us. We are all one. One with Existence. I had a great experience on
Wednesday @ Dancing Shiva. I went to grab lunch and decided to eat @ the
park, which was highly recommended by Mas. I sat, ate, watched the kids
play...and then decided to take the walk around the park. Upon doing
so, I was overwhelmed with a feeling of.....of love. Love for
everything I was seeing. The grass, the trees, the flowers, the
mosquitoes, the doggies, the people. It was quite beautiful and
extraordinary. I hope one of many.

So I say it here, with a heart full of gratitude, love and respect...I
am ready! I want to know what real love is, I want to feel my heart
overflowing with love. Love for all no matter what, who, when , where.
I want rid my ego and let Existence take over. I want to know
Existence. Feel it coursing through my veins. I want to know real
love. And always be in the state of being in love.

Last night

I went to visit Maryanne at her job. She's a bartendar @ a bar in our
hood, well not her hood - but my hood. So I show up @ abt 7ish. Ask
for a virgin Bloody Mary, cuz I'm no longer drinking, and chill with the
crowd. Her roommate was there with friends and family and it was a cool
vibe.

Well about 2 hours later of course everyone is pretty tipsy by now, and
a customer, who was a friend of her roommates, starts to argue with
Maryanne about payment for drinks. First off, this guy had been buying
round after round, so he was pretty buzzed. Secondly, he didn't know
what the hell was going on. It went a lil something like this...
Maryanne: so that's gonna be $12.50 (cua they was drinking brewski and
I was drinking water at that point).

Drunk guy: ok well here it is (and he pushes like 8 bux her way).

Maryanne: Ok it's 12.50.

Drunk guy: yes and here it is.

At this point she looks @ me AND I TOTALLY GET IT!!! *EPIPHANY*
(Fyi...last year I was Maryannes #1 scholar in the drunk category)
I now understand the whole it sucks to be sober in a room full of drunks
thing. It was so frustrating to have explain to mr. Drunk guy that he
had not paid for the last round and he was being charged for 2
rounds...it was so frustrating she let it go. I would have too, there
is no point in having a discussion or rationalizing with a drunk while
you are sober. It does not work and it's frustrating.

At that moment I was sooooo happy to be sober!

And that my friends, confirmed that I need to stay sober...because I
can't afford to not be 100% here.....now!

That a car would come in handy...but then again...
I'd be fightin traffic right now....RIGHT NOW...I could be on the 10,
swallowing huge amounts of car fumes and smog. I could be stressed that
the cars aren't moving....and why doesn't this guy get closer to the car
in front of him damnit!

But none of this is happening....I just stepped onto the bus and my
chariot will take me aaaawwwwaaaayyyyyy to the Yoga Kingdom!!! Woo
hoo!!!

Just leaving the Nithyananda Vedic Temple. I went with my mom. She'll
always be a Catholic. Lol. I enjoy attending and assisting. Swamiji is
coming in July!!!! I can't wait to meet him!!!!

I've also confirmed my schedule @ Dancing Shiva. Pretty stoked about
that too!!! I was just saying to Amy that I don't even know how that
happened, even though it was all her. Life is a blessing!

The Truck of Life

I discovered Karma Tube one day randomly and receive the emails. Today's email was about the People's Grocery. They are non-profit organization that is bringing sustainability to West Oakland...and that's only the beginning! I can't imagine what it must be like to have to go to a liquor store for groceries. Would they even be fresh? Would they be healthy?

We had something similar here in Los Angeles. They are the South Central Farmers who had a 14 acre urban garden in one of the lower economic areas in Los Angeles. A private developer, along with the city who is backing them, is trying to get rid of the property. This farm was used to stimulate and bring money into that area, as well as healthy and nutritious food. Not only did they farm there, but they also provided entertainment portraying the various cultures that surround the area. It was a venue that dedicated itself to the people and inhabitants of the hood.

You know what I would do if I had the cash flow........
I would drive around in one these

and only sell good, nutritious food. Fruits, veggies, salads, whole grain meals, and tofu!! And it would NOT be called a Roach Coach, as they are called now, but rather The Truck of Life....get it, like the tree of life. Ha ha.

You are what you eat.....and food IS medicine!!!! Stick that in your pipe!!!!

Thursday's are great aren't they?! It's kind of the beginning of the
weekend, for most party go-ers.

I got home last night @ 6pm and went right to sleep! I then woke up @
10pm and watched tv for an hr. Then went back to sleep. Hahahahahaa.
And now, I'm sleepy again!

I teach tonight. It has been brought to my attention that I am not
allowed to bring my mom to class with me. Which I understand, she
doesn't pay for a membership and attends my classes for free. This
little bump in the road has made me make some decisions.

One, I am a volunteer there and have been for almost 2 yrs. As a
volunteer, which I love to do, I thought we were allowed to bring a
guest - so I was bringing my mom. The classes I teach are Tue/Thur. @
730 pm, and Sat. @ 9 am. Now I don't know abt anyone else but those are
not the best hours in the world. But I love to teach! I love my
students! They are my family!

And two, my mom is my ride there. I don't own a car. She attends
because she drives me there. Since the classes are a little late in the
evening, I don't like to walk. It may not be dangerous but why tempt
the darkenss. Anywho, I hope to have that matter resolved, and I pray
that they allow my mom to continue to attend with me. It also benefits
her to be working out. I'm sure they will work something out.

We shall see........

Here's the secret about In n Out...they have soooo many things that are NOT on the menu.
It's like a secret society. They have 4 X 4's (which is 4 patties and 4 slices of cheese), they have a grilled cheese ( which is great for vegetarians like myself), and they have Animal Style!!!! I still come across people who don't even know some of the different options they offer. They even do a protein burger! What is that you may ask?? Take a look here to find out.

My sis and I agreed to attend evening mass at our local Catholic chuch (yes, this is how i spell it and say it - so there). We arrived like an hour early!!! So I took the opportunity to shoot some stuff....enjoy.

The mass was typical, and ritualistic. I felt lost inside and it was cold. Very, very different than the morning service we attended @ Agape. After chuch, we went to Mimi's and had a light dinner. We ended up seeing the Pastor from the chuch. He sat right next to us, so we didn't really discuss the service. I can now confirm catholicism is not for me.

After the service on Sunday we had lunch at Camacho's. It's a Cantina homezzz. We had Arnold Palmer's (which mom loves).

We then proceeded to order a platter of stuff to munch on. As you can see, I was having a beautiful day!!!

Our waiter was very funny and charismatic. We then felt obligated to leave a very generous tip. He was very helpful.

Lunch was great. I love my mom! Also - I rather enjoy the little water spouts they have there! They are fun, especially in the summer!!!

If you ever get a chance - run through it, in it, around it, and finally jump right in!!!

1st Easter Service @ Gibson Ampitheater

Easter was awesome!!! I was invited to the service being offered by the Agape International Spiritual Center at the Gibson Ampitheater, which is at the City Walk/Universal Studios. It was an awesome, awesome, awesome experience!!! We arrived a little late (due to parking misfortune), but arrived on time for the service. We missed the meditation but caught the most important part.

The Ampitheater was packed!! We sat on the balcony. Had a great view! There was so much color on stage, as the Agape International Choir sat on stage and were the background. They were dressed in white, fuschia, turquoise, and orange. It was lovely!!!

I was inspired by a quote the Pastor said. "Jesus' art was his life." His life was his artwork. We are all artist here. We all have some sort of talent. Some people show it through painting, drawing, music, films...but Jesus did it with his life. His life was his art. How powerful is that??? I was so inspired!!

I had a convo with my uncle last week, and to tell you the truth, I don't know much about Jesus. I know he did great work! He was a master. I think we all can be that way. We can all give up our "life" and dedicate it to doing God's will (I say God but please use whatever term with which you are comfortable). He used his life as an example. But the essence is the same no matter what religion, or beliefs. Be good to one another, love each other. Be kind, compassionate and don't judge. Everyone is on a different journey.

I was moved by Dr. Michael's message. My mom was as well!!! We were both sitting there happy and crying. My mom has been a practicing Catholic since she was born, and to see her embrace the moment and enjoy and love from this new place was quite a sight. Mom's is always open to new things, but she was moved by what we felt, saw, and heard. I had big crocodile tears streaming down my face. My journey is proving to be quite emotional. And I've just got on the road!!

It's only 9:20 pm and I'm sleepy! I taught class...all 3 people...and
that includes my mom. I picked up my sis from work and we're headed
home. It's Tuesday. Only Tuesday. The ego in me thinks I had a crappy
day. But my spirit is happy, I am grateful for all the blessings I have
and continue to receive! I could say it was bad but it wasn't. I
didn't lose anything, break anything, or get arrested...lol. Just
kidding. About the arrest, I mean.

3 days...

I finally got a few days off from work! A total of 3 days!!! It was pretty spectacular in and of itself that I was able to get 3 days of during a holiday weekend, none the less. Woo hoo! Damn Wamu for taking my slogan, and closing my account. Now I am a degenerate in the eyes of the government. No bank account, no cc's, none of that. I'm glad, actually. Except for the fact that I can't purchase anything online...even Paypal is messing with me. It's funny but I know if this had happened to me a few years ago, I would have been very upset. Now, I am detached and don't care one way or the other.

Ok...so Saturday was my first day off. I had an 8 am appt. at Dancing Shiva Yoga and Ayurveda Studio. It is a beautiful space! It was an interview, which was very relaxed and informative. I began this week, and will be there 2 times a week, at least. Everything happens for a reason and I don't question, I just do. The studio is a ways from my home but I love the westside so I have no qualms about riding the bus out there and back. I hope to gain more days, but for this is great for now!

So after the appointment, I stopped downtown to pick up a new skirt for Temple. Since it was a holiday, I wanted to get all purdy for it. LOL! Oh, it was like in the 80's on Saturday. It was HOT!!!! Ugh, so hot. I got home, went to eat lunch w/Diana, my sis, and then went home for a nap. Well my nap lasted 6 hrs!!! I didn't get up in time for Temple and missed it. (Visualize my sad face). And that was my Saturday. Oh and I was shooting pix like crazy!!! I have to develop them tonight....yes, I am a 35mm Film girl....so what!!!????

Cracked and Connected

Sometimes I feel like this. Cracked, brittle, ignored. Not knowing which direction to go in so I travel and explore many. Reaching out and connecting to others. Reaching out and being one with the others out there. See, I don't see what you see. I don't see a cracked piece of concrete. My eyes see...the world. Showing me we are all connected, even if we don't know, see, smell, taste, hear this very powerful thought. WE ARE ALL CONNECTED.

How, you may ask? Good question...one which I cannot answer at this time. I have my own interpretation...but that is all it is. My opinion, my thoughts, my voice. Just like you have yours, and often times we do not know how strong and beautiful it can be. We get caught up in this b.s. world of what do I have, what's the latest trend, car, restaurant, club...blah, blah, blah.

I'm guilty of it...don't get me wrong. I've paid my share. But in the space that I am currently in, it makes no sense to me to continue to do so, be so, think so. I'm in the flow. I'm in the river and I'm going with the flow, and as I go...my eyes are being opened! I am seeing things like never before and it's beautiful!!! To have this growing sense of love and hope and knowing is a awesome thing!

So, yes, sometimes I feel like this. When I saw it I knew I had to have this shot. It stood out to me. But it's a feeling of being connected...going, moving and being everywhere and everyone.

Mujeres De Maiz

My friend Erika invited me out to and Art Show and Performance by Mujeres de Maiz. Las Mujeres de Maiz claim "Good Art is Good Medicine." Somos Medicina (We are Medicine) speaks to the indigenous tradition of art as medicine. It is the offering of ancestral teaching and the medicine of memory in visual form, to a community in dire need.

The event was held at the Self Help Graphics & Art in East L.A. It was cracking when we got there! It gave me much joy in seeing the community out in full force to support our local women artist. The evening began in the gallery with works of art by Nayeli Guzman, Poli Marichal, Linda Vallejo, Timoi, and Emilia Garcia to name a few. Definitely check them out! These are some very talented women! The energy was inspirational!!!

There was also a performace which featured different women artist through different mediums. The first performers were Yei Tecpati. As they state on their MySpace, together they form Yei Tecpatl two mujeres guerreras. Practicing and living our traditional ways from Mexico. Through the education and preservation of not only things like Danza & Music, but also, artistry, history, philosophy, spirituality, language, Medicine, Ceremony,and above all Canos del Corazon! Together as Indigenous People of this land, we can regain what is rightfully ours, Our Pride, strength, knowledge, dances, philosophies, language, music, customs and beleifs. All in the education, understanding and acceptance of our Native Culture. Mexica Cihuatl style!

The next group of women that captured my joy were In Lak Ech. They are performance poetry and song collective of Xicana multi-media artist, writers, students uniting to tell Her-story through poetry. They used a huge drum and had my spirit dancing on the ceiling!!! They also had their babies on stage (not really babies) and the little girls were singing the songs!! It was so beautiful! They sang of empowering and awakening the goddess within, or rather, that's what I got from them.

The next performer was a poet who used spoken word as her medium. She is Gabriela Garcia Medina All I can say is she was awesome!!

The next performers were a group of 3 women who go by the name Butchlalis de Panochtitlan.BdP, for short, is a sketch-driven performace/installation/video ensemble that maps Los Angeles on racialized female masculine bodies. They are funny and funny to watch!!! They had me cracking up!!! Do check them out!!

Las 'Manas performance style is a mix of theater, spoken word, and movement. They did an awesome performance about MySpace and how we need to connect in person, eye to eye, face to face.

Closing the show was Lynnix. She ended the show with a prayer. A prayer which required us to anounce out loud and proud, "Universe, I reclaim what was mine since the beginning." Such a strong and powerful statement! I was inspired and grateful to be in the midst of such inspirational women!

I'm sooo jazzed today!! I had a phenomenal weekend!!! Well technically, it wasn't during the weekend...I had Monday off and spent the day with my soul sister, Amy.

I love her spirit! We crossed paths while working for LA Yoga Magazine last summer and created a bond that is unbreakable!! I feel like I've known her my entire existence!! She is the one soul I can tell everything, which is what we usually do. I love her like I love books, unconditionally!!!

Amy is a devotee to the Life Bliss Foundation. The founder is Paramahamsa Nithyananda

I remember the first time I ever really sat and meditated was with Amy. It was an easy, simple meditation from the Life Bliss Foundation. Afterwards, I felt like I was walking on air, so new and refreshed and invigorated. I believed. And she helped.

We spent the day gathering beautiful flowers for Shivaratri. It is one of the highest honors to fetch flowers for the Deities. I was very honored and humbled to have been of service for such a powerful festival. It is a beautiful thing to do as a human to let go and let god. It is always a treat to visit temple. The energy when you walk in can be overwhelming if you are not used to being around it. The first time I stepped into Temple I was dizzy and felt like I was floating. I prayed, chanted and meditated. It must have been 2 to 3 hrs but it felt like mere seconds.

I wanted to share this special day in case anyone would like to dedicate one day, 24 hours, to aid in manifesting all the dreams you ever could possibly imagine. 24 hours is a mere blink in this place we call life. 24 hours to dedicate to our source. 24 hours to sing to the heavens and have only positive thoughts. Chant, pray and meditate.

Only in Los Angeles could you hang out with a wide array of people. It's awesome to live in a place where you can be yourself and not have to be fake....haaaa. Even though this is the place where fake is adored and encouraged. I'm glad to see people are not conforming by being someone they are not.

I find it fascinating that I'm attracted to unique souls/people. I think being "normal" (whatever that is), is boring. Not boring but just not living. Expression is a great word and action. Express yourself.

Freeganism - Dumpster Diving is Love!!

Ok so I'm sure some of you have heard of this but it's a first for me...

Freeganism is an anti-consumerism lifestyle whereby people employ alternative living strategies based on "limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of resources.

This is just the latest of situations being created in order to help the over-consumerism of this country. It's a way to live simply. Consume less. that should be the new slogan. Consume Less.

I'm all for trying to do my own part to be one with nature, but digging through the trash for food? For food? I think I'd rather become a farmer. As it is I'm working on growing herbz (wink, wink - j/k) for my household.

it's interesting but very disciplined. I give it up to those who can do this. I applaud the effort but it would take a WHOLE lot to convince me to take this route...unless there's a crisis and we had no other choice. Then I'd whoop yo ass for a slice of cheese. Ha!

Hello there! Welcome one and all. I'm feeling frisky with a dash of spunk so WATCH OUT!!! Tuesday.....awwwwww I just remembered this time I was supposed to call this girl named Tuesday. I called early one morning and was soooo HUNGOVER when she answered I forgot the name and said "May I speak to Wednesday?" I'm sure she gets that all the time. LOL.

So ya, it's Tuesday. I teach on Tuesday but am putting in a full day at work, so no water aerobics today. I didn't even get up to do Yoga.

Ok, on to some serious news (ya right)...I had a rocking weekend. It was relaxing and fun! I caught a Burlesque show on Saturday.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY MY PEEPS!!!!!

I can't believe it is already Feb. 14th tomorrow!!!! This year is flying by!!!! Aaaahhhh, valentines day...such a joyous occasion for all the retailers. To prove one's love we go into debt by buying something ridunkulous!!! Not that us ladies don't preciate, but ya know. I grew up in a household where moms ALWAYS got jewelry for V-day...and not just a lil something but a ginormous rock or a set (necklace, earrings, and bracelet) full of shiny white gems...aka a girls best friend. I, on the other hand never had a love of anything shiny, gawdy, or blingy. I don't even like yellow gold. I prefer white gold, or platinum, and of course, silver. The best gift I could receive tomorrow would be a great big hug and a heartfelt you are loved...isn't that what we all wanna hear?

I love to receive flowers, just like any other girl, but I've only have 2 experiences in this area. The first time was on my 21st bday. I received 21 roses!!!! I was stoked!!! The roses lasted longer than the loyalty of the person who gave them to me, but it was a beautiful thought, followed by a beautiful action. The second time was for V-day. It was a truly beautiful time in my life but full of heartache. I received a rose and a gift, for which I had longed plenty. Afterwhich to have it dissolve in front of my eyes, but still worth the experience.

One year 14, yes 14 of us single folk decided to take off to Vegas for a good time. 7 guys, 7 girls, and we had a blast!!!! I can honestly say it was one of thee best times I've had in Vegas. No drinking (well maybe a lil), no drugs, and I had fun!!! We gambled - this is when i fell in love with Roulette. I was taught how to play and fell in love with the odds. We clubbed it, drank a lil and danced till out feet were numb!!! Only in Vegas!!! The last day we all awoke with hangovers, and a huge appetite. We decided on the Rio buffet and while in line, one of my friends won $2,000 bux!!! Of course, she treated and we were happy, healthy, wealthy and wise.

And now, I share with you theeeeeee worst date I've ever had!!! My date picked me up late, and he was in the backseat. His brother was driving...lol...so I hop in the front and we go. Turns out his brother was going to go with us to the movies so he drops us off at his place. It was smaller than a studio. You could see the back door from the front door. So we enter the place and its a bachelor pad/shack/dig/dump...whateva. No tv, no radio, no mags, nothing, nada, zip, zilch. We make small talk for like 2 FUKN HOURS!!! So its getting late and I'm like, I gotta use the ladies room....and he's like...(get ready for it)....i don't have any toilet paper. You can use this...(please see white crew sock above)...!!!!! In my head I'm like....wtf!!! A sock, u nasty mofo, a sock!!! You expect me to wipe my golden cat with that nasty, grimy, dingy, used sock?!?!?!?!?!?! I know your laughing at me....and I'm laughing now too, but at the time I was sooooo tripped out. Like what was he thinking??? He didn't even offer to get some from the neighbors, nothing. GROSS!!!!!! Needlesss to say, I never spoke to that guy again. Never, ever. Thank Jeebus for that. Anywho, I'm sure there are worse situations to be in, but for me, this was it. This was the ultimate worst time on a date in my experience.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

So here we are, another Sunday; another beautiful day here in Los Angeles. Yesterday was HOT!!! It was 82 degrees!!! I took a couple of days off to recharge. It's always good to take a break. Retreat to an isolated place, wherever that may be. I actually made a couple of greeting cards. I have to start a plan of action for those lil gifts of lurve! Anywho, Friday I stayed in and relaxed. It was nice. A great evening. I got a chance to fix my room a bit. I have a problem with laundry...i do not like to do it and i like it less when i have to put it away. On the flip side, it's a great way to keep inventory on what you got and how to put it together.

I have a weekly class at 9 am and usually I'm hungover but I was a-okay this Saturday. After class I went home, got my new mattress and got ready for the evening.

I hung out with Richard. We heart Richard. He's a good guy and we always have a blast!!!! We went to the bar, had a drink and started our excursion. We ended up here

We were baked. like a delicious pie during Thanksgiving!!! We parked, walked around the Plaza, and decided we wanted the Pizza down the street from the bar!!!

So we head back and head into this joint called Red West Pizza. Off PCH in Wilmington. It was actually really great! I had the onion and garlic

It was delicious!!! Had my breath of stank!!!! But well worth it.

Today, I'm at work and almost done. I leave at 7 pm. No plans as of yet, but you never know. That's life. It's unexpected and full of surprises. It's in how we see the world that shapes our life. If you are positive and see the cup half full, your life will be happy, even through the fire. That's how I have decided to see my life. Half full and going strong!!!

Today is our day to Vote!!! I'm headed to the polls after work. It shall be interesting to see what the votes look like towards the end of the day. What a historical election this will be!!! We are a part of the history being made today! For the first time EVER we have a woman ,

and an African American .

Being a Gen. X-er, I did not have the experience or have feelings of those born and bred while racism was at its climax. When people were segregated, and kept apart due to their skin color. What a sight it must be to see someone of color running for the presidency!! Being a Chicana (born in the U.S. with Mexican ancestry), I am very happy to see a person of color running for office. Growing up in a predominantly Anglo community, I always kept close to "minorities" because I thought they would understand the struggle more so, than someone who was Anglo. We always got those looks, you know, like we didn't belong. Like we were lepers in a community full of doctors.

I grew up with African-Americans, unlike most Chicanos, and realize we are just people trying to make it in this world. We all hurt, bleed, cry, smile, laugh and love! Now as I contemplate my vote, my voice, I find myself feeling like I must stick with the minority, the underdog, the unexperienced. The struggle is the same, its the person who determines the outcome. I believe in Barack, I believe he is the only candidate who understands what is going on in this country and looks with his eyes, minus the rose colored glasses.
